KATHMANDU: After an extended losing streak that lasted for 6 trading sessions, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) finally climbed to close at 1992.30, an increase of 13.28 points or 0.67%. Sensitive index also rose 0.60% to conclude at 355.97. Total turnover data was reported at 2.017 billion, lowest since December 10. Transaction data also plunged with 5,988,717 shares exchanged in 49,940 transactions. Likewise, 314 scrips traded.
Across the trading board, 167 companies observed a bullish trend while 75 were bearish. Manufacturing & Processing (+2.51%) was the leading sector while Hotels & Tourism (+1.45%) and Hydropower (1.36%) closed the top three. Except for Finance (-0.25%), Mutual Fund (-0.21%) and Microfinance (-0.06%), all sectors witnessed upward trends.
