KATHMANDU: Pranaya Rana, Adjunct Professor at King's College in Kathmandu, has been selected to receive '2024 Madhuri and Jagdish N Sheth Distinguished Alumni Award for Exceptional Humanitarian and Service Achievement'.
This recognition is for his work in the USA with refugee communities and his socio-political and academic contributions in Nepal.
The Sheth Distinguished Alumni Award for Exceptional Humanitarian and Service Achievement is given in honour of an international alumnus of Kennesaw State University. It recognises those who are distinguished in their profession through international activity, have made exceptional contributions to their global community through service to government, humanity, science, art, and/or human welfare, and who exemplify the strength of their education at Kennesaw State University.
Meanwhile, Rana shared his thoughts on Facebook, “After attaining higher education, I feel my responsibility towards society has significantly increased. Today, as I was invited to accept the Distinguished Alumni Award 2024 from the institution where I studied, I feel this responsibility has been further magnified. I am deeply grateful to all those who have supported me and provided a conducive environment in this journey of my life, enabling me to use the knowledge and skills I have acquired for the benefit of society.”
