KATHMANDU: Paramount Motors, the authorised distributor of MG Motor in Nepal, has introduced the 'Paramount Charging Solutions' app. This dedicated app is designed solely for MG electric vehicle (EV) customers in Nepal, aiming to provide a user-friendly experience with efficient charging solutions.

The app can be downloaded from the following links:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paramount.ev (Android Users)
https://apps.apple.com/app/paramount-charging-solutions/id6476561022 (IOS Users)

Customers can download the app and complete the sign-up process by entering their details, and gain access to a range of charging services. The app integrates with 'Khalti', a digital mobile wallet, as a payment gateway, ensuring secure transactions. The company advises all its customers to have a Khalti account.

The app provides access to MG’s 30 kWh DC Chargers, offering a comprehensive charging solution for MG ZS EV and MG4 EV owners in Nepal. Paramount Motors currently operates around 11 DC charging stations across the country and plans to increase this number.

The app introduces RFID cards, enabling customers to charge their vehicles at any MG DC charging station nationwide. To use these services, customers have to pay an annual subscription fee of Rs 500 (inclusive of VAT) for the RFID card. This fee covers the maintenance of the charging infrastructure, ensuring reliability and efficiency. It also guarantees 24/7 availability of charging solutions (subject to terms and conditions) and enhances customer service by providing a seamless charging experience and prompt issue resolution. Customers can apply for the MG RFID card online at www.mgmotors.com.np/rfid-request-form or offline by downloading the form from the website and following the provided instructions.

When filling in the RFID request form, customers can select one of the 21 MG Showrooms across Nepal as their preferred RFID card collection centre. Paramount Motors has confirmed that, in line with the National Electricity Authority (NEA) policy, an additional 20% charge over the NEA rate per unit is applied, as set by the Government of Nepal. This cost per unit may vary during peak and off-peak hours, allowing Paramount Motors to manage electricity demand efficiently, ensure grid stability, and provide cost-effective charging solutions to its customers.

A representative at Paramount Motors expressed excitement about the app launch, stating, "We are delighted to launch the Paramount Charging Solution app, providing MG EV customers with a reliable and convenient way to charge their electric vehicles. This demonstrates our commitment to sustainable mobility solutions and enhancing the overall EV ownership experience."
