
BEIJING: The majority of capital goods monitored by China's statistical authorities recorded an increase in prices in early March compared to late February, as per the official data released on Thursday.
Out of the 50 major goods categorised into nine groups, which include seamless steel tubes, petrol, coal, fertiliser, and certain chemicals, 27 reported a rise in prices during this period, while 21 experienced a drop in prices. The prices of two goods remained unchanged, as disclosed by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In this period, the prices of hogs escalated by 4.4%, as per the data from the NBS.
These statistics, which are published every 10 days, are derived from a survey conducted with nearly 2,000 wholesalers and distributors across 31 provincial-level regions throughout the country.
