KATHMANDU: On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the National Banking Institute (NBI), a ceremony was held today. Mr. Maha Prasad Adhikari, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, felicitated the trainees who secured outstanding positions in various certification programs conducted by the Institute and awarded prizes to the employees who completed 10 years of service at NBI.
During the ceremony, Governor Adhikari also launched two new certification courses offered by NBI: "Risk Management" and "Retail Banking." In his speech, the Governor emphasized the need for NBI to expand its physical infrastructure (including its own residential campus) and stressed the importance of cooperation from all banks and financial institutions in this endeavor. Governor Adhikari also highlighted the need to introduce additional programs and certification courses for capacity building in the banking and financial sector.
On the same occasion, Mr. Biswa Ketan Das, Chief Executive Officer of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, spoke about the importance of certification courses. Mr. Sunil K.C., President of the Nepal Bankers' Association, expressed that banks are always positive about participating in NBI's infrastructure development and various programs.
Mr. Kumar Lamsal, Chief Executive Officer of the Institute, shed light on NBI's activities and future programs. The program was attended by high-level officials from Nepal Rastra Bank, CEOs, and other officials from various banks and financial institutions.
At the end of the program, Dr. Nephil Matangi Maskay, Chairman of NBI, who presided over the program, thanked all banks and financial institutions for their contribution to the Institute's development. He also praised the contribution of NBI's employees and concluded the program.
