KATHMANDU: On 22nd March 2024 SecurityPal in collaboration with SkillLab organised Nepal Hacks @ SecurityPal. Nepal Hacks @ SecurityPal is an annual Hackathon event, a vibrant incubator for innovation where coders, developers, designers, and visionaries converge to transform ideas into reality. The event took place at the SecurityPal Nepal office, located in Baluwatar from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. SecurityPal is a startup company based out of San Francisco, California.
There were around forty participants and 10 teams with 3-4 participants in each team. The event aims to enable participants to tackle real-life business problems by diving deep into
problem-solving and crafting prototypes and solutions that push the boundaries of technology and design, all centred around a pivotal theme or challenge. The event was facilitated by Michael Ibragimchayev, an ex-Google employee and Product Manager at SecurityPal. “There is so much talent in Nepal and we want to showcase that talent. We are creating opportunities for young students who are studying technology”, quoted Michael in a short dialogue with Business 360.
The participants were judged by a panel of judges. Pukar C. Hamal (Founder/CEO of SecurityPal who currently resides in California), Ruth Rafalovich (VP, BD and Strategic Relations at SecurityPal), and Samir Gautam (Information Security Compliance Manager | Special Delivery at SecurityPal) were the judges of the event. The winner (Tech Titans) with the project named Sakshyam Academy, tackling Issues of Fee Submission - and methods of marksheet generation/printing than primitive and revision materials and lack of for students in schools was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 75,000/-. Similarly the first runner up (Team Everest) and second runner up (Team Vision) were awarded Rs.50,000 and 25,000 respectively.
