HETAUDA: Speaking at the 25th anniversary of the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), emphasized the need for construction companies to receive timely payments from the government. The 25th anniversary celebration of FCAN was held in Hetauda on Friday.
President Dhakal stressed that the government should understand that infrastructure development is the most crucial aspect of the country's development. He further mentioned that the government should not delay payments as it could lead to project delays. Due to the government's inability to pay billions of rupees owed to contractors for construction work, businesses are struggling financially as they are unable to meet their obligations for supply chains, bank installments, employee salaries, and taxes. However, he expressed confidence that the situation will improve in the coming days.
Dhakal, while addressing the program, also emphasized the need to create a system that allows construction companies to easily access loans from banks. Finally, he commended the FCAN for its unwavering commitment to infrastructure development in Nepal.
The program was inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
