ANKARA, TÜRKIYE: The Turkish Embassy in New Delhi has announced that Turkish authorities will now require the 'Electronic Airport Transit Visa' (e-ATV) for Nepali and Indian passport holders travelling to Mexico, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela, transiting via Istanbul Airport.
"Important announcement regarding Indian & Nepalese passengers traveling to Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela via Istanbul Airport, starting from 15 April 2024," the Turkish Embassy in New Delhi posted on X.

"The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey announces that Turkish authorities have commenced requiring the 'Electronic Airport Transit Visa' (e-ATV) for Nepali and Indian passport holders travelling to Mexico, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela, transiting via Istanbul Airport," it stated.
Furthermore, the statement read that Indian and Nepali passport holders, subject to the requirement of e-ATV, can obtain their e-ATV via the website 'evisa.gov.tr' starting from 15 April, free of charge as per the current practice.
Nepali and Indian passport holders, travelling to the aforementioned countries, should carry the print-out of their e-ATVs while travelling as it will be checked by the relevant airlines and service providers.
"Nepali and Indian passengers mentioned above should carry the print-out of their e-ATVs during their travel since it should be checked by the relevant airlines/service providers at the departure airports in accordance with international aviation rules and by Turkish authorities at the visa points of transit passenger arrival area at Istanbul Airport," the statement added.
