NARAYANGADH, CHITWAN: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has assured that the current government will introduce a new policy to revive defunct or struggling industries.
At the inauguration of an industrial exhibition and information technology fair jointly organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chitwan (CCIC) and the Computer Association of Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10 in Chitwan district, Minister Bhandari stated that thorough discussions will be held to introduce a new policy to restart such industries.
The Industry Minister further shared that the government, through the upcoming fiscal year's policies, programmes, and budget, will ensure that each province has at least one industrial area.
According to the minister, the government is working towards preventing a situation where entrepreneurs and industrialists become disheartened. "We will transform the current despair into hope," he pledged.
Stating that the government's primary focus is on making the upcoming Investment Summit a success, he informed that a policy related to increasing the consumption of domestic goods and startups will be introduced very soon.
He emphasised the need for timely amendments to the industry policy to boost domestic production.
Minister Bhandari expressed regret that problems at the policy level among the three-tier government had hindered economic activities and committed to progressing by resolving such issues.
