Madhes Province government will invest in tourism promotion: CM Yadav

SIRAHA: Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, has announced that the provincial government will invest in promoting tourism.

Speaking at the closing session of the 10-day 'Lahan Expo' in Lahan Municipality on Monday, Chief Minister Yadav assured that the provincial government would foster an environment conducive to investment.

"Madhes province shares a border with India, which has a large population. The provincial government is considering how to attract Indian tourists to Nepal," he said, expressing his willingness to collaborate with tourism entrepreneurs and businesspersons. He informed that potential tourism areas will be identified and investments will be made accordingly.

The Chief Minister further guaranteed full security for businesspersons in the province.

He also shared that the provincial government plans to allocate a sufficient budget for the upcoming fiscal year to construct a levee along the Balan River and a modern building for Ram Kumar Sarada Uma Prasad Murarka Memorial Hospital in Lahan.

According to him, Lahan has played a significant role in introducing the federal republic in the country.

Also addressing the event were provincial assembly member Lalita Das, President of the District Coordination Committee, Dinesh Mahato, Mayor of Lahan Municipality, Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary, and Siraha's Chief District Officer (CDO), Bashudev Dahal.

The expo commenced with a focus on agriculture, tourism, industry, and trade.
