Govt to review laws to address problems seen in cooperatives

KATHMANDU: The government is set to review the legal system to address issues observed in financial cooperatives. It will also assist in addressing the concerns of the depositors of these cooperatives.

Rekha Sharma, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson, shared that a decision regarding this was made at the cabinet meeting held on Thursday at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers. The meeting also decided to appoint Sudarshan Dev Bhatt, a judge of Patan High Court, as the chairperson of the appeals committee, while he continues to oversee work at the same court.

In addition, the government has instructed relevant agencies to take serious action to mitigate the damage caused by incidents of fires and wildfires occurring in various parts of the country and to bring the fires under control.
