Nebula Energy launches battery swapping ecosystem, Gogoro CrossOver GX250

KATHMANDU: Nebula Energy, the authorised and exclusive partner of Gogoro Inc, launched Gogoro battery swapping ecosystem and the Gogoro CrossOver GX250 Smartscooter in Kathmandu today. Gogoro Inc (Nasdaq: GGR) is a global technology leader in battery-swapping ecosystems that enable sustainable mobility solutions for cities.

The announcement was made at a special media programme organised at Ananda Bhawan in Lazimpat, Kathmandu, where the first battery-swapping station is located. Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), was the chief guest at the event. Gogoro executive Yang Chen was also in attendance and jointly inaugurated the first Gogoro battery swapping service and unveiling of the CrossOver Smartscooter, GX250, the ultimate two-wheel SUV.

Speaking at the event, Nebula Energy Chairman Manoj Goyal expressed his commitment and vision towards contributing to Nepal's zero-emission targets through the new age of sustainable mobility and technology with Gogoro. Gogoro's new Gogoro CrossOver GX250 is optimised for riders in Nepal with more seating and storage space and better ground clearance."

Nebula Energy will initially offer battery-swapping services to strategic B2B partners. The company plans to install GoStations around the Kathmandu valley to ensure there is a station available every 2-3 kilometres. Nebula Energy will also roll out new Gogoro SmartScooter models this year for both retail and corporate customers. The scooters will be available for sale to retail customers during Dashain, one of the biggest festivals of the country. Nebula Energy plans to install more Gogoro GoStations than the number of fuel stations in Nepal.

Further adding to the statement, Managing Director of Nebula Energy, Sahayu Goyal, shared that mass-scale adoption of EVs in the two-wheeler segment must be enabled through technology. Battery-swapping provides a unique solution that addresses the major challenges faced by consumers when deciding to buy an electric two-wheeler today.

Gogoro CrossOver SmartScooter Series

Nebula Energy is introducing the Gogoro CrossOver GX250 Smartscooter, the ultimate two-wheel SUV. The GX250 is manufactured in Maharashtra, India and is Gogoro's first India-made SmartScooter. The CrossOver series is built on a redesigned all-terrain frame that enables increased rigidity and comfort while offering a variety of storage, riding, and customisation capabilities. The GX250's new frame design greatly increases the durability of the suspension system and accommodates larger loads while emphasising comfort and stability.

Gogoro Battery-Swapping Technology

At the heart of Gogoro's ecosystem is an open and interoperable battery-swapping platform that was recognised earlier this year by Guidehouse Insights as the leading battery-swapping company for lightweight urban vehicles in the world.
