KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal has expressed satisfaction over the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Rara Holdings and the Expert Group of Australia. This MoU, signed during the Third Investment Summit, is for the construction of a resort near Rara Lake in the Mugu district.

In a discussion with representatives of Rara Holdings on Wednesday morning, PM Dahal pledged the government’s support for tourism promotion. He stated, “The MoU for the construction of a resort at Murmatop is significant. Tourism is a crucial area for prosperity in Nepal. The state should focus on tourism infrastructure. I am pleased that the private sector has taken the initiative for this. It will significantly contribute to the promotion of both domestic and international tourism in Rara.”

The Prime Minister assured that the State would support infrastructure development to attract tourists to Rara. He said, “The State will also play a role in infrastructure development for the construction of resorts.” The government will mainly provide support in the construction of roads, electricity transmission, drinking water, and other sectors. He added that this investment would not only help attract tourists to Nepal but also increase internal revenue.

On the occasion, Abhishek Bikram Shah of Rara Holdings and Sanjeev Sharma of Expert Group Australia committed to completing the work within the agreed time as per the investment summit agreement.

Rara Holdings and Expert Group Australia signed an MoU on the sidelines of the third investment summit held on Monday. This MoU is for the construction of a well-equipped resort near Rara Lake, costing Rs 1.1 billion.
