KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that the policies and programmes, and budget for the upcoming fiscal year will focus on the concerns of underprivileged classes and regions that are lagging behind in national development indicators.
Speaking at the 10th full meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre)'s parliamentary party, Chairman and Prime Minister Dahal shared that the new budget will be prepared by learning from past experiences.
"Policies and programmes, and the budget will be formulated with the agendas of good governance, social justice, and prosperity at the forefront, aiming to uplift the underprivileged," CPN (MC)'s Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey quoted PM Dahal as saying.
Furthermore, PM Dahal instructed the ministers from the CPN (MC) to engage with the party's lawmakers and incorporate their feedback in preparing the budget.
The Prime Minister expressed the view that the new feedback should aim to uplift communities in Madhesh, including those in the vicinity of the Postal Highway, Karnali, Dalits, and other oppressed communities.
Additionally, PM Dahal encouraged the lawmakers to provide their feedback for production growth and employment creation and to share recommendations from experts across various sectors with the government through the party.
During the meeting, the CPN (MC) lawmakers suggested that the new budget should meet the people's expectations, despite the ongoing situation of limited resources.
Chief Whip Pandey stated that the meeting decided to make the upcoming parliamentary session systematic and effective and to pass the bills from the thematic committees.
