KATHMANDU: Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamikawa Yoko, arrived in Kathmandu this afternoon on an official visit to Nepal.
The Japanese Minister's visit comes in response to a cordial invitation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
Foreign Service Secretary Sewa Lamsal received the Japanese Minister at Tribhuvan International Airport. This visit marks her first to Nepal since taking office.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japanese Minister is scheduled to pay separate courtesy calls on President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. She will also participate in a bilateral meeting and discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shrestha at the Ministry today.
Additionally, she will visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square and Mandala Book Point in Jamal, Kathmandu.
Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha will host a state banquet this evening in honour of his Japanese counterpart.
The Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs will depart from Kathmandu on a Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) flight tonight.
