KATHMANDU: European Union (EU) Ambassador to Nepal Veronique Lorenzo has announced that the 'EU-Nepal Business Forum 2024' will be held in Kathmandu next week, with the aim of attracting European investment to Nepal.
Speaking at a reception in Kathmandu on Thursday, which marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the European Union, Ambassador Lorenzo stated that the second meeting of the EU-Nepal Business Forum, scheduled for May 15-16, will address Nepal's foreign investment shortfall.
She mentioned that companies from EU countries would attend the meeting to explore potential investment opportunities in Nepal.
Furthermore, the Ambassador noted that Nepal is progressing towards its goal of graduating from the list of least developed countries by 2026, and emphasised the need to foster economic development and create employment opportunities to achieve this objective.
