KATHMANDU: THAI Airways International, Thailand's national flag carrier, has relaunched its direct service in Nepal.

THAI Airways began its service to Nepal in 1968 with a flight from Bangkok to Kathmandu via Calcutta. This half-century-long journey of connecting Nepal to the world, and bringing the world to Nepal, was interrupted in March 2022 due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The service was resumed on October 29, 2023, with Society International Travel Services appointed as the General Sales Agent in Nepal

Currently, THAI Airways operates Airbus 320, a narrow-body aircraft, in Nepal. Society International Travel Services has been an excellent partner of THAI Airways, with a strong understanding of the local market. Within one and a half months of resuming flights in Nepal, the response to THAI Airways was so positive that the company decided to start a second daily flight on December 15, 2023.

Thailand's national flag carrier operates Airbus 320 narrow-body aircraft, 777 Aircraft, Dreamliner 787, and Airbus 350 aircraft in more than 60 destinations. These aircraft are known for offering comfortable seating configurations and in-flight entertainment options.

Customers can install the 'THAI Airways' mobile app to find convenient flights and gain access to the Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) services.
