Birgunj Metropolis spends Rs 1.74bn in 10 months, posts growth in capital expenditure

BIRGUNJ: Birgunj Metropolitan City has spent Rs 1.74 billion during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2023/24. 

The metropolitan city reported that it had utilised 52.7% of its budget by the end of the first 10 months of the current fiscal year. 

Additionally, the total amount spent under the heading of capital expenditure is higher compared to the previous fiscal year in the metropolitan city. 

The total budget allocated for the current fiscal year in the metropolitan city is Rs 3.46 billion. So far, the metropolitan city has spent Rs 1.34 billion under the current expenditure, while Rs 392.2 million has been allocated to capital expenditure. 

The metropolitan city of the Madhesh Province has stated that revenue collection was not as estimated, but the capital expenditure has slightly improved.

The city collected Rs 398 million in revenue in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.
