Preparation for budget completed

KATHMANDU: The preparation for the budget, which includes estimates of the government's annual revenue and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25, has been completed.

The budget was finalised after Finance Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini handed over the draft to Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun today.

Following the handover, Finance Minister Pun proceeded to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu, for the approval of the budget. Finance Minister Pun will be presenting the budget at a joint session of both the lower and upper houses of the Federal Parliament at 3:00 pm on May 28.

Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has approved the medium-term infrastructure and annual development programme at an NPC meeting held in Singha Durbar.
