FY 2024/25 Budget: Govt to legalise marijuana for medicinal purpose

KATHMANDU: The government is set to legalise the cultivation and consumption of marijuana for medicinal purposes.

While presenting the government's budget estimates for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25 in today's joint meeting of parliament, Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun stated that necessary laws will be enacted for the commercial production of marijuana in the country.

He said, "Legal provisions will be established for the commercial cultivation of marijuana for medical use."
