CAN Federation General Secretary Adhikari honoured with ICT Excellence Award 2024

KATHMANDU: Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) General Secretary Chiranjibi Adhikari has been honoured with ICT Excellence Award 2024 for his significant contributions to Nepal's information and communications technology (ICT) industry. Former Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi handed over the award to Adhikari at a ceremony organised by Chandralok Foundation on Monday.

Adhikari, resident of Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Chitwan, specialises in cybersecurity and networking. He has earned various global certificates and has been focusing on Information Security, IT Governance, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Information Security Management Systems. He has been a strong advocate for youth and startups in the ICT sector.

With over two decades of experience in the ICT field, Adhikari is a prominent figure in Nepal's cybersecurity landscape. His commitment to ICT education and raising awareness about internet safety and cybersecurity is evident from the more than 500 programmes he has conducted nationwide. These programmes, primarily targeted at community schools, government agencies, and the private sector, have significantly improved the country's cybersecurity situation.

In addition to his role as General Secretary of the CAN Federation, Adhikari is also a key figure in several major organisations in Nepal's ICT sector. He is the founder and president of the Information Security Response Team Nepal (#npCert) and the Centre for Cybersecurity Research and Innovation (#CSRI).

Adhikari is also Managing Director at One Cover, an information security company, and serves as a lecturer at the Software College of IT and E-Commerce and Texas College of Management.

After receiving the ICT Excellence Award 2024, Adhikari expressed that the recognition has further motivated him to be even more active in this field.
