KATHMANDU: Today's meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has begun.
Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun is scheduled to present a proposal to initiate a general discussion on the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25.
Speaking during the 'urgent time' of the session, Ramhari Khatiwada, a Member of Parliament from the Nepali Congress, stated that it is not lawful to assign those who violate traffic rules as volunteers on the road. He emphasised that everyone should operate within the confines of the law, making it their top priority. MP Khatiwada also called for a ruling from the Speaker to prevent those who violate traffic rules from being assigned as volunteers on the road.
Khatiwada highlighted that while the provision of leave for female police officers during menstruation is a positive step, it should be implemented only through legislation.
Member of Parliament Ishwari Devi Neupane suggested that arrangements should be made for citizens to easily access the parliament building. She also called on the Speaker to ensure the effective implementation of the rule that MPs should attend parliament in proper dress.
