KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed. A gathering of the chief whips of the major political parties, held this morning at Speaker Devraj Ghimire's official residence, decided to delay the meeting for two days to review the budget book.
The discussion on the appropriation bill, originally set to commence today, will now begin on June 11. The meeting's postponement came as parties requested time for ministry-wise discussions under the Appropriation Bill, 2081, according to the Speaker's Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Nepali Congress Whip Sushila Thing, CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi.
Additionally, Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal and General Secretary of the Federal Parliament, Padma Prasad Pandeya, were present at the meeting.
