Bagmati Province govt unveils budget of Rs 64.54bn for forthcoming FY

HETAUDA: Bagmati Province government has announced a budget of Rs 64.54 billion for the fiscal year 2024/025.

Economic Affairs and Planning Minister of Bagmati Province, Jagannath Thapaliya, presented the budget at the province assembly meeting on Saturday, allocating Rs 26.1 billion for current expenditure and Rs 36.93 billion for capital expenditure. The budget size in the province has increased by Rs 1.83 billion compared to the current fiscal year's budget.

Minister Thapaliya stated that Rs 1.5 billion has been allocated for fiscal management.

The provincial government has allocated 40.44% for current expenditure, 55.23% for capital expenditure, and 2.32% for fiscal management.

According to Minister Thapaliya, the upcoming fiscal year's budget prioritises education, healthcare, agriculture, and tourism sectors.

The provincial government's budget also announces the declaration of 'Skill Year' for the upcoming fiscal year.
