KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has stated that the Chinese educational fair will bolster relations between Nepali and Chinese universities and enhance educational quality.
At the inauguration of the China Higher Education Exhibition organised by the Chinese Embassy and China Scholarship Council in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Minister Shrestha noted numerous Nepali students have gained specialisation through scholarships in China.
He expressed his belief that the fair would greatly benefit aspiring Nepali students. He added that educational fair serve as milestones, informing about higher education in China, and visits by Nepali officials have significantly contributed to educational, cultural, and social ties between the two nations.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, reported that approximately 2,500 Nepali students are currently studying in China, with a growing number of Chinese experts and volunteers coming to Nepal for study and teaching.
Cultural exchange and educational support form a vital foundation for Nepal-China relations, he remarked, fostering close community ties.
Harish Chandra Sah, Chairperson of the Nepal-China Cultural and Educational Council, expressed confidence that the fair would smooth educational relations at a grassroots level. He emphasised that Nepali students could benefit from China's internationally recognised educational standards.
Deputy Secretary-General of the China Scholarship Council, Jhang Junior, conveyed that the exhibition has provided a platform to inform Nepali students and parents about China's educational landscape for over a decade.
