KATHMANDU: An aircraft of Jazeera Airways landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) in Siddharthanagar Municipality, Rupandehi district today. Coinciding with the Buddha Jayanti, a narrow-body aircraft of Kuwaiti airlines made a flight from Kuwait to GBIA carrying 178 passengers.

According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the aircraft of Jazeera airways will return to Kuwait carrying passengers from Nepal at 2:30 am on Tuesday.
According to Sanjaya Bajimaya, Tourism Coordinator at Siddhartha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the process has been forwarded to conduct flights on three days — Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays — a week. He said a travel company in Bhairahawa has already booked 30 seats for the international flight on Jazeera.
At least 24 domestic flights take place at the old airport in Bhairahawa on a daily basis. Chief of GBIA, Govinda Prasad Dahal, said the international flights have been set to operate at night time at the airport to minimise the traffic congestion as there is only one runway.
