KATHMANDU: Management Association of Nepal (MAN) on Monday held a discussion programme on the Monetary Policy for the fiscal year 2024/25.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari was the chief guest at the programme. The programme was held to provide suggestions to the central bank on the Monetary Policy for the upcoming fiscal year.
The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by Mohan Raj Ojha, President of MAN, who expressed his gratitude to all attendees for their continued support and participation. This was followed by the official inauguration by the Chief Guest, NRB Governor Adhikari.
Ashok Sherchan, Executive Committee Member of MAN, delivered the introductory speech, setting the stage for an in-depth discussion on monetary policies and their impact on various sectors. The session was moderated by Kuber Chalise, editor of clickmandu.com, who introduced an innovative approach by first allowing representatives from different associations to raise their questions. This was followed by statements from the dais, ensuring that the discussions were directly responsive to the concerns of industry stakeholders.
Anjan Shrestha, Acting President and Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), and Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), also shared their perspectives on the current state of Nepal's economy and the strategic measures being implemented to ensure financial stability and growth.
The event concluded with remarks from the NRb Governor Adhikari. He stated, "We are policymakers. Our duty is to give you an enabling environment and anything we do; we will do for the betterment of the country." He also participated in the distribution of tokens of appreciation to special guests, acknowledging their contributions to the discussion.
MAN President Ojha also presented a token of appreciation to Governor Adhikari, expressing gratitude for his valuable insights and support.
MAN Secretary General Indra Kumar Shrestha delivered the vote of thanks and closing remarks, expressing appreciation to all attendees for their active participation and insightful contributions. The programme was adjourned and followed by a networking session over Hi Tea, providing an opportunity for further discussions and collaborations.
