Cathay Pacific has secured the fifth spot as the World’s Best Airline, in the 2024 Skytrax World Airline Awards, climbing three places from last year. Additionally, the company has been recognised as the 'World’s Best Economy Class Airline' and the 'World’s Cleanest Airline'.

These accolades come after Cathay Pacific was ranked as the third best premium airline globally by AirlineRatings last month, marking a significant improvement of six places compared to the previous year.

Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam expressed his enthusiasm, stating, 'Moving from last year’s top 10 to this year’s top five in both Skytrax and AirlineRatings rankings is incredibly encouraging. These achievements reflect the substantial progress we have made, both on the ground and in the air, and serve as a vote of confidence from our valued customers. We deeply appreciate the support we have received from our passengers, employees, and the public throughout the past year.'

Lam emphasised that Cathay Pacific's commitment doesn't end here. 'These accomplishments will inspire us to continue exceeding expectations for our customers at every stage of their journey. Our goal remains to become the world’s premier premium airline,' he added.

Cathay Pacific continues to invest in product and service innovations, ensuring a premium travel experience whether passengers are in the air, on the ground, or online. The airline plans to introduce new seat products over the next three years, starting with the Aria Suite — an all-new Business class experience — followed by a refreshed Premium Economy seat and Economy class on its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft later this year.

Looking ahead, Cathay Pacific aims to provide a world-leading first-class experience onboard its new Boeing 777-9 aircraft in 2025. Additionally, a brand-new cabin featuring a flat-bed Business Class product will be introduced on its Airbus A330 in 2026. These seat enhancements complement ongoing improvements in Cathay Pacific’s lounges, dining options, inflight entertainment, and digital services.

Furthermore, the airline plans to roll out complimentary inflight Wi-Fi for Business Class customers and Diamond members in the near future. Starting in July, Cathay Pacific will also increase its cabin crew complement on selected flights, further enhancing the delivery of its signature inflight service.
