KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), organised a Tourism Promotion programme in the capital of Thailand on Thursday.

According to the Embassy of Nepal, a total of 75 companies participated in the programme, including 25 travel and tour operating companies from Nepal and 50 from Thailand. The event was attended by representatives from Nepal Airlines Corporation, Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, officials from the Thai government, business entrepreneurs, mediapersons, representatives from the Non-Resident Nepali Association and other organisations.

During the programme, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Oli, encouraged participants to explore the business potential in Nepal's tourism industry. He emphasised that Nepal caters to travellers of all seasons and diverse interests, including cultural enthusiasts, heritage site visitors, nature lovers, pilgrims, adventure seekers, leisure travellers, sports enthusiasts, and jungle safari enthusiasts.

These business meetings serve as valuable opportunities for networking, partnership development, and information sharing between the two business communities, aiming to unlock the full potential of tourism, as highlighted by the Embassy.

Additionally, Vitidnan Rojanapanich, the first Everest Summiteer from Thailand in 2008 and President of the Thai-Nepal Friendship Association, shared his experiences about Nepal and the Himalayas with the participants. Nabin Pokharel from NTB delivered a presentation titled 'Experience Nepal: Lumbini to Himalayan Bliss,' highlighting Nepal's major tourist attractions.
