Mahindra unveils XUV400 in Nepal, advancing sustainable mobility

KATHMANDU: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, a global leader in the automotive industry, announced the launch of its all-electric Mahindra XUV400 in Nepal. This reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

This launch establishes the XUV400 as the first electric SUV (EV) from Mahindra in Nepal, offering an eco-friendly commuting option. It will be available at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 5,250,000.

As the newest member of the Twin Peak family, the XUV400 embodies Mahindra’s dedication to delivering high-performance, stylish, and technologically advanced SUVs. 

Nepal, chosen as the first global market for the XUV400, underscores Mahindra’s strategic focus on this region and its potential for EV adoption.

Since its India launch, the Mahindra XUV400 has received significant recognition in the automotive industry. Leading publications have honoured it with prestigious accolades, including ‘Electric Car of the Year’ by carandbike, ‘EV of the Year’ by Acko Drive, and ‘Mid-Size Electric SUV of the Year’ by Car India magazine. These awards highlight the XUV400’s outstanding performance and innovative features in the electric SUV segment.

SPIRITED PERFORMANCE

The Mahindra XUV400 is powered by a high-capacity 39.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering 310 Nm of instant torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds. The XUV400 features first-in-class multi-drive modes (Fun, Fast, and Fearless) that simultaneously adjust steering, throttle, and regenerative braking. The innovative single-pedal drive mode, known as ‘Lively mode’, provides a seamless and effortless driving experience, especially in dense traffic—a unique offering in its segment.

ELECTRIFYING PRESENCE

The XUV400 proudly bears the distinctive Electrifying Copper Twin Peak logo, signifying its status as Mahindra’s flagship EV in Nepal. Combining dynamic performance with stylish design elements, its exterior features a new front and rear design highlighted by Satin Copper arrowhead inserts on the Aero Fascia and LED tail lamps. The projector headlamps and exclusive dual-tone body colour ensure the XUV400 stands out on the road.

TOUGH YET SOPHISTICATED

Engineered to handle diverse terrains, the XUV400 meets best-in-class water and dustproof standards with its IP67-rated battery and motor. It embodies Mahindra’s legacy of building rugged SUVs while offering a refined driving experience. The single-pedal drive mode (Lively mode) simplifies city driving. The exterior is complemented by R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, auto headlamps, and an electric sunroof. Inside, the XUV400 boasts luxurious interiors with leatherette seats featuring blue stitching and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.

Additionally, the e-SUV offers an elevated cabin experience with Dual-zone Automatic Temperature Control, complemented by dedicated rear air vents, ensuring a consistently comfortable environment for all passengers. The convenience of a wireless charger and a rear USB port helps passengers remain connected on the move.

SCI-FI TODAY

The XUV400 brings futuristic technology to the present with its innovative gamification feature, enhancing the driving experience by encouraging efficient driving habits. The cockpit of the XUV400 is equipped with a 26.04 cm infotainment system and a 26.04 cm instrument cluster, designed to be future-proof with the capability to receive over-the-air updates to its firmware.

WORLD-CLASS SAFETY

Built on a platform with a five-star Global NCAP rating, the XUV400 incorporates extensive safety features. It meets ISO standards for functional safety, making it the safest India-built EV. The vehicle has undergone rigorous testing under extreme conditions, from the heat of Jaisalmer (+47°C) to the cold of South Korea (–20°C). Its fast-charging compatibility (CCS) has been validated in multiple geographies, including Nepal. Safety equipment includes six airbags, disc brakes on all wheels, and ISOFIX child seat anchors, making it a comprehensive safety package.

The XUV400 will come with a standard warranty of 3 years, with 8 years on the battery and motor (whichever comes earlier), delivering a secure and trouble-free ownership experience.

The XUV400 will be launched through 10 Twin Peak dealerships in Nepal, ensuring widespread accessibility for customers eager to embrace the future of mobility.
