NYEF Biratnagar Chapter concludes 20th AGM; elects Shubham Bhattarai as new president

KATHMANDU: Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs' Forum (NYEF) Biratnagar Chapter held its 20th annual general assembly (AGM) during which a new executive committee led by Shubham Bhattarai was unanimously elected. Bhattarai will serve as the President of the NYEF Biratnagar Chapter for the next one year.

During the AGM held last Friday, Sanjiv Sigdel was elected as the First Vice President, Roman Kattel as Second Vice President, Samyam Shrestha as Treasurer, and Ritesh Khanal as Programme Coordinator. Utkrishta Bhattarai will take on the role of Learning Session Coordinator, while Arnesh Shrestha has been elected as the Biratnagar Chapter Coordinator. Avishek Kedia will serve as the Communication Coordinator, Ankita Giri as Legal Advisor, Navin Jhunjhunwala as an Executive Member, and Sangita Dhamala as Secretariat Head.

Chief Guest at the AGM, Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki, emphasised the crucial role of youth in building a strong economy and ensuring economic development and stability. He cited examples of young entrepreneurs who have successfully established global market monopolies through creative thinking. Karki expressed the view that young people are the backbone of the country's development.

CM Karki also pledged the provincial government's support for promoting entrepreneurship among startups, youth, women, and individuals with diverse abilities. The goal is to create an entrepreneurial-friendly environment by harnessing the skills of the youth.

Newly elected NYEF Biratnagar Chapter President Shubham Bhattarai highlighted the transformative power of youth as agents of change. He stressed the importance of providing opportunities to young people, especially considering technological advancements and their contributions to startup ventures.

President Bhattarai identified financial management challenges and political complexities as factors affecting youth entrepreneurship. He called for facilitation and motivation to encourage more young individuals to venture into entrepreneurship.

Ranjit Bhagat, Immediate Past President of NYEF Biratnagar Chapter, expressed confidence that NYEF would continue to enhance entrepreneurship development in the future.

Sahara Joshi, National President of NYEF, underscored that over 1,000 young entrepreneurs are affiliated with NYEF's 11 chapters, which were established in 2003.

Special guests at the AGM included Rajendra Raut, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Koshi Province; Rakesh Surana, President of the Chamber of Industries Morang (CIM); and Suyesh Pyakurel, CIM Immediate Past President and founder of NYEF Biratnagar Chapter. They extended their best wishes to the newly elected executive committee for a successful tenure.
