KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) will be electing its president through direct election.
Prior to this, the senior vice president would automatically assume the top post.
A meeting of the FNCCI executive committee took this decision on Monday by amending the statute for electing the president through direct election.
The meeting unanimously passed the statute amendment proposal and decided to pick a president through direct election, according to FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal.
The amendment will be enacted from the next term after the current vice president serves as the FNCCI President.
In the amended statute, there will be two senior vice presidents.
