CHITWAN: A search is ongoing for two passenger buses swept away by a landslide into Trishuli River at Simaltal along the Muglin-Narayangadh road section in Chitwan district.

The two buses, carrying approximately 65 passengers in total, fell into the river due to the landslide at Simaltal in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 at 3:30 am today.

Despite continuous rain and the swollen river, rescue teams — including divers from the Nepali Army and Armed Police Force — have been mobilised to search for the missing buses and passengers, according to Chitwan's Chief District Officer (CDO), Indra Dev Yadav.
