The session themed "The Potential of Organic Farming in Nepal," featured insightful presentations and discussions on the future and benefits of organic farming in the country.

Speakers at the session were Prem Bahadur Lama, Director at JAFL, Golyan, and Ambassador Goldberger.

Lama, founder of Ashapuri Organic Farm, shared his life journey and the health benefits of organic food. Diagnosed with cancer in his 50s, Lama found little relief from conventional medications. Turning to organic foods, he experienced significant health improvements. His story underscored the vital role of organic farming in promoting healthier living.

Golyan delivered a presentation on the potential organic crops that could thrive in Nepal. He emphasised JAFL’s openness to collaboration with entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. Opportunities for investment, venture partnerships, and product purchases were highlighted, stressing the economic benefits of organic farming.

Israeli Ambassador Goldberger showcased how Israel, despite limited rainfall, has managed to have 2% of its agro entrepreneurs supply enough food for the entire population while exporting surplus produce. Ambassador Goldberger showcased innovative farming methods from Israel and encouraged Nepali entrepreneurs to visit excellence centres in India to gain advanced farming knowledge.

The interactive session included discussions on export processes, strategies for land acquisition, and the potential positive impacts of incorporating organic foods into daily diets.

CNIYEF President Anurag Goyal expressed enthusiasm about the session’s success. He reiterated the forum’s commitment to fostering innovation and growth in Nepal’s agricultural sector. He thanked the speakers and attendees and encouraged ongoing collaboration to harness the potential of organic farming fully.

The event concluded with a networking session, allowing participants to connect, share ideas, and explore future opportunities in the organic farming sector.
