KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel today administered the oath of office and secrecy to 19 newly-appointed ministers in the KP Sharma Oli-led government.
Prithvi Subba Gurung (Minister for Communication and Information Technology), Ramesh Lekhak (Home Affairs), Sharat Singh Bhandari (Labour, Employment and Social Security), Arzu Rana (Foreign Affairs), Pradip Yadav (Water Supply and Sanitation), Balaram Adhikari (Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation), Damodar Bhandari (Industry, Commerce and Supplies), and Nawal Kishor Shah Sudi (Women, Children, and Senior Citizens) took the oath before the Head of the State at a swearing-in ceremony at the Office of the President today.
Likewise, Devendra Dahal (Physical Infrastructure and Transport), Teju Lal Chaudhary (Youth and Sports ), Pradip Paudel ( Health and Population), Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya (Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs), Badri Prasad Pandey (Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation), Ramnath Adhikari (Agriculture and Livestock Development), Bidhya Bhattarai (Education, Science and Technology), Manbir Rai ( Defence), Deepak Khadka (Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation), Raj Kumar Gupta (Federal Affairs and General Administration) and Ain Bahadur Shahi (Forests and Environment ) were also among those ministers who were sworn in by the President.
Prior to this, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli took the oath before the President. It was followed by the swearing-in ceremony of deputy prime ministers Prakash Man Singh and Bishnu Prasad Paudel. Singh took the oath as the DPM and Minister for Urban Development and Paudel as the DPM and Minister for Finance.
Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, Immediate Past Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former prime ministers including Sher Bahadur Deuba, Jhala Nath Khanal and Baburam Bhattarai, leaders of political parties, parliamentarians, high-ranking government officials, chiefs of security agencies, the heads and representatives of the Nepal-based diplomatic missions and distinguished persons from various walks of life were present on the occasion.
