KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, has urgently advised all Nepali students studying there to prioritise safety and refrain from leaving their hostels or residences except for essential purposes.

In a press statement issued today, the Embassy emphasised compliance with college administration instructions due to security concerns.

This advisory coincides with the decision by the Ministry of Education in Bangladesh to temporarily close all government and private educational institutions (including universities, colleges, and schools). The closure comes in response to ongoing demonstrations and protests by university students against the ‘quota’ system.

Nepali students facing difficulties or residing in unfavourable conditions are encouraged to contact Second Secretary Yojana Bamjan (+8801880691013) or Riya Kshetri (+8801745407958). These officials can assist with relocation to safer places if necessary.

The Embassy remains vigilant, closely monitoring developments in Bangladesh, and actively coordinating efforts with the Bangladeshi government and college administrations to ensure the well-being and security of all Nepali students.
