Five committees formed in Council of Ministers

KATHMANDU: The government has formed five committees within the Council of Ministers and has named their coordinators. 

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday established the political, administrative, economic infrastructure, legislative, and social committees. According to the Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, the coordinators of the committees have been appointed based on their areas of expertise.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, was named the coordinator of the political committee, while Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, will lead the economic infrastructure committee.

Similarly, Minister Gurung has been named the coordinator of the administrative committee. Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, and Minister for Home Affairs, Ramesh Lekhak, have been assigned as the coordinators of the social committee and the legislative committee, respectively.

Furthermore, Bishnu Rimal has been appointed as the chief political advisor to the Prime Minister, and Yubraj Khatiwada as the economic advisor.

Government Spokesperson Gurung stated that the cabinet meeting has approved the participation of the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ganesh Prasad Pandey, in the 46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee to be held in New Delhi, India, from 21st July.
