Finance Minister Paudel assures payment to contractors

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, has shared that the details of payments to be made by various government bodies to construction entrepreneurs are being finalised, and a process will be initiated to pay their dues soon.

Minister Paudel said this during a meeting with office-bearers of the Federation of Contractors' Association of Nepal (FCAN) at the Finance Ministry today.

Prior to this, Finance Minister Paudel had held discussions with secretaries of different ministries. Minister Paudel mentioned, "Secretaries of the relevant ministries have been asked to clear the payments for completed projects. Problems should not remain unresolved. They should be addressed gradually. Let's seek a solution through discussions."

The Finance Minister urged the contractors to complete the construction activities within the deadline and the determined cost while maintaining quality, stating that the government is ready to listen to their genuine problems and address them. Construction entrepreneurs have been claiming that they are owed around Rs 60 billion.
