KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal has urged the members of the Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF) to reinvigorate the ‘Made in Nepal’ campaign.
Speaking as a special guest during NYEF's 20th annual general meeting (AGM) in Kathmandu on Friday, President Dhakal highlighted that the ‘Made in Nepal’ campaign, initiated about 15 years ago by NYEF, has become a source of inspiration for numerous organisations.
President Dhakal commended NYEF for its leadership in various domains as the youth organisation affiliated with FNCCI. He also praised NYEF members for their efforts in enhancing the prestige of FNCCI — an endeavor that contributes to our country's economic prosperity.
During the event, President Dhakal shared that the government had officially endorsed the Startup Policy at FNCCI's initiative. Additionally, FNCCI successfully defined startups within the legal framework — an achievement worth celebrating. President Dhakal expressed confidence that NYEF members would continue to play a pivotal role in promoting entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, President Dhakal informed the gathering that FNCCI's draft committee had approved the proposed amendments to the Federation's statute. The draft includes a provision stipulating that the NYEF President will serve as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee. Details regarding membership arrangements are yet to be finalised, but President Dhakal expressed hope that the upcoming Special General Assembly would approve these changes, further integrating NYEF's leadership with that of FNCCI.
While talking about the country’s economy, President Dhakal mentioned that FNCCI representatives have met with the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Home Minister, and Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies. He informed that they have urged the government to work to boost the morale of the private sector, which has been taken positively.
