KATHMANDU: The Chairman and the Board of Directors of Malpi International School, Panauti have formally appointed Robert Wilson as the Principal of their flagship institution with immediate effect.

Wilson brings a wealth of academic and administrative experience to the school. His professional journey began in teaching and academic leadership at St. Joseph’s College, North Point, Darjeeling. Subsequently, he joined Budhanilkantha School Kathmandu as a science teacher. In a remarkably short time, he assumed the role of Housemaster and was later promoted to Deputy Headmaster, overseeing both administration and pastoral matters.

After nearly seven years at this school, Wilson shifted his focus to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he joined the GEMS Group — the largest educational conglomerate in the UAE.

His career trajectory then led him to the higher education sector. Wilson played a pivotal role in establishing Australia’s first overseas campus of the University of Wollongong — the Dubai Campus.

Following a decade as the administrator of this institution, he took on the responsibility of Director of QA and Compliance for Southern New Hampshire University’s overseas campuses in Dubai, Malaysia, and Bangkok. In 2004, he was appointed by the Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, Ruler of Dubai, to establish the first School of Public Policy and Governance — the Dubai School of Government — in collaboration with Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and Singapore’s Lee Kuan School of Government.

Subsequently, Wilson embarked on another decade-long tenure, this time setting up the first College of Fashion and Design in Dubai, serving as the Director of Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness.

In 2021, Wilson returned to Kathmandu, where he is now based. He has actively engaged in auditing and system-building across several schools in Nepal, most notably at Malpi International School. His vision for Malpi is to create an educational environment that inspires students to excel academically, develop personally, and make meaningful contributions to society.
