KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) lawmaker Padam Giri stressed the need to promptly address the situation where industries are forced to shut down due to inadequate electricity supply.

During the urgent hour of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmaker Giri stressed the urgency of resuming power supply to prevent further closures of industries, as per the directive of the Prime Minister.

"On the one hand, there is a situation of the power produced in the country not getting market while on the other hand, there is a situation of closing the industries for not getting electricity. This problem should be resolved immediately," added Giri.

In a related matter, Hit Bahadur Tamang of the CPN (Maoist Centre) presented details of physical losses caused by landslides and floods in Nuwakot district, urging the government to take measures to mitigate the risk of further disasters.

Meanwhile, Gyan Bahadur Shahi from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party demanded action against those who propagate against the Sanatana religion, while Ranendra Baraili, also from the CPN (Maoist Centre), drew the government’s attention to the search for missing buses and passengers.

Additionally, Manish Jha of the Rastriya Swatantra Party requested the Foreign Ministry to brief the House on the condition of Nepalis in Bangladesh. Jha expressed concern over the disruption of regular services at Janaki Eye Hospital, attributed to conflicts between two groups.
