KATHMANDU: SPG Automobiles, the authorised distributor of OMODA vehicles in Nepal, recently embarked on an ambitious reforestation campaign. During the T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024, they planted a total of 3,000 trees as part of the 'Nepal Scores OMODA Grows' initiative.

This collaborative effort involved OMODA customers and the Dollu Community in Dakshinkali. They came together to reforest an area within the Dollu Community Forest in Dakshinkali Municipality, on July 20, 2024. The campaign aligns perfectly with OMODA's vision for a "Green Nepal, Greener Future."

But SPG Automobiles' commitment goes beyond reforestation. They are also actively involved in conserving Nepal's endangered species. As part of this initiative, SPG Automobiles planted 1,500 trees in Dakshinkali and an additional 1,500 in Ilam. These trees serve as a conservation project specifically aimed at protecting the Red Panda, in collaboration with the Red Panda Network.

The motivation behind these efforts is clear: mitigating the adverse effects of air pollution in Kathmandu. The city has long grappled with environmental degradation, and SPG Automobiles aims to make a positive impact through sustainable practices.

The 'Green Nepal, Greener Future' campaign not only symbolises collective action but also highlights the active participation of the Dollu community and OMODA customers. Together, they strive to foster a sustainable future — one where environmental consciousness and species protection go hand in hand.

Dakshinkali Municipality Mayor Mohan Basnet, along with local community members and OMODA customers, graced the tree-planting event. Their commitment serves as an inspiration for others to join the fight against climate change and safeguard Nepal's endangered wildlife.
