KATHMANDU: A tripartite strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed among Prabhu Bank, Idea Studio Nepal, and the three campuses of Gandaki Province in separate events on July 30 and 31.
Prabhu Bank CEO Ashok Sherchan, Idea Studio Nepal Executive Chairperson and Co-founder Tshering Lama, Campus Chief of Dhawalagiri Multiple Campus (DMC) Prof Dr Ram Prasad Upadhaya, Campus Chief of Myagdi Multiple Campus (MMC) Shreedhar Subedi, and Campus Chief of Kalika Multiple Campus (KMC) Associate Prof Biranji Gautam; signed the MoU.
This collaboration aims to foster creativity in entrepreneurship among the faculty and students of KMC, DMC, and MMC, empowering budding entrepreneurs.
Through this partnership, Prabhu Bank, the three campuses, and Idea Studio Nepal will promote student development and growth through joint expertise and innovation.
Prabhu Bank CEO Sherchan stated, "Prabhu Bank and Idea Studio Nepal have been collaborating for many years on various programmes. This year, we aim to cooperate with these three campuses to provide necessary support for the development of entrepreneurship and innovation among students in Gandaki Province."
Similarly, Idea Studio Nepal's Executive Chairperson Lama said, "Idea Studio Nepal will support and encourage faculty development in training and research activities to make the educational curriculum relevant and practical. We aim to equip students with 21st-century skills and knowledge and provide career development counselling according to their goals." He expressed confidence that the collaboration would offer necessary incubation training to entrepreneurial students and instil confidence that their ideas can be transformed into businesses.
DMC Campus Chief Upadhaya noted that, given the trend of young people going abroad, it is crucial for educational institutions to highlight opportunities within the country. He hoped this collaboration would convince DMC students that they can achieve success in Nepal by advancing in entrepreneurship.
Campus Chief Subedi of MMC remarked, "Students in this area are very capable, and today's cooperation will energise their entrepreneurial spirit." He expressed confidence that this collaboration would help students from different districts studying at MMC realise their entrepreneurial potential at home.
Campus Chief Gautam of KMC said, "Although we have collaborated with various organisations for entrepreneurship in the past, they were limited to MoUs. This cooperation with Prabhu Bank and Idea Studio Nepal will encourage genuine entrepreneurship and help students become self-entrepreneurs in the future."
Under this partnership, Idea Studio Nepal will provide necessary advice to students in entrepreneurship, innovation, incubation, and business plan development. They will also offer guidance to teachers to advance in research. Idea Studio Nepal will conduct topical seminars involving national and international experts and provide overall guidance and technical support for programme implementation, including monitoring and evaluation.
Idea Studio Nepal nurtures the entrepreneurial mindset of teachers and guides them towards innovative approaches to both learning and teaching.
On behalf of Prabhu Bank, Idea Studio Nepal will invest in startup loans for promising startups, as evaluated by the bank, to promote the entrepreneurship ecosystem in educational institutions. They will also provide comprehensive banking literacy to develop students' entrepreneurial skills. Additionally, the bank will bridge the gap between industry, business, and educational institutions, promoting research among faculties in policy, business practice, and practical knowledge.
