KATHMANDU: Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE) hosted an event titled 'Bridging Continents: The Dynamics of Nepal and Australia Engagement' at its office in Lalitpur on Tuesday.

The event brought together guests, scholars, and media to explore the multifaceted relationship between Nepal and Australia.

The event commenced with a warm welcome and an introductory speech by the host, who provided an overview of NIICE's mission and ongoing projects. The host then invited Pramod Jaiswal, Research Director at NIICE, to the stage. Jaiswal gave an insightful overview of NIICE’s initiatives and introduced the event’s chief guest, Felicity Volk, Ambassador of Australia to Nepal.

Ambassador Volk captivated the audience with her reflections on her tenure in Nepal and her upcoming departure to Australia in two weeks. She shared her experiences and highlighted the cultural and diplomatic exchanges that have strengthened the bond between the two nations. Additionally, she revealed her plan to write and publish non-fiction and fiction books in Nepal, expressing her intention to return in the future.

Following her speech, a dynamic questionnaire session led by Jaiswal delved into various aspects of Nepal-Australia relations. The discussion covered topics such as cultural differences, empowerment initiatives, and opportunities for further collaboration between the two countries.

The event concluded with a heartfelt thank you speech and the presentation of a token of love to the Australian Ambassador, symbolising NIICE's appreciation for her valuable contributions and dedication to fostering Nepal-Australia relations.
