KATHMANDU: Glocal has revealed its 20under20 list for the 10th edition, celebrating 20 remarkable and influential Nepali teenagers under the age of 20. This prestigious title honours early change-makers from diverse fields who are making a positive impact on society.
For a decade, the Glocal Teen Hero initiative has recognised teenagers who excel beyond academics, providing a platform to showcase their extraordinary talents. Glocal Teen Hero Nepal acknowledges teenagers’ initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm, empowering them to catalyse positive change at the intersection of global and local domains.
The 20 teenagers selected this year come from various fields, including child rights activism, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, health activism, social activism, environmentalism, and AI science/research.
The 20under20 list for 2024 includes Aadesh Regmi (18), social activist; Aashish Panthi (19), social activist; Aayushman Puri (18), social activist; Aryan Basnet (18), IT enthusiast; Ashish Banjara (18), social activist; Ganashyam Bishwakarma (19), child rights activist; Hangsam Nembang (17), entrepreneur; Kaushal Niraula (19), environment activist; Kishor Shahi (16), climate activist; Krishtina Khanal (18), tech enthusiast; Nischal Bhattarai (16), social activist; Prashim Timsina (16), technopreneur; Purnima Timsina (17), child rights activist; Sajani Sharma (19), social activist; Saurab Banstola (17), STEM activist; Shakti KC (19), AI enthusiast; Shreejay Subedi (18), tech enthusiast; Sinshiya KC (19), health activist; Sugam Parajuli (19), entrepreneur; and Tushar Shah (17), innovator.
This year, 709 applications were received nationwide, showcasing remarkable talent, dedication, and impact. Out of the total applications, 20 inspiring young pioneers were selected by the jury panel through an intense selection process, recognising the impactful impressions they have made on society. The selected teenagers will be honoured at the Glocal Teen Hero 2024 Award function on September 1, 2024, at The Soaltee Hotel, Soalteemode, Kathmandu.
Throughout the year, Glocal’s 20under20 will work collectively to identify opportunities, foster networking, collaboration, and organise work to create an impact in society. They are expected to use their existing knowledge and experience to initiate work and enhance their leadership and other qualities, paving their way towards becoming future leaders.
