KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli instructed ministers and secretaries to submit plans aimed at catalysing a development surge in the country. He emphasised the need for concrete strategies that foster progress and achieve remarkable milestones.

During a meeting held at his office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu, on Thursday, PM Oli stressed the importance of systematic planning to address people's needs. The discussion covered an annual progress review, the implementation of the current budget and programs, and key government tasks to be accomplished within 100 days.

PM Oli asserted that a dynamic national economy hinges on achieving 100% development expenditure. He stated, 'We are not mere employees; we work for the service and development of our people and future generations. This work cannot be equated to paid labour.'

The Head of the government further emphasised that objectives should be grounded in reality, not mere imagination. However, ambition should not be avoided.

According to him, the time has come to demonstrate performance that surpasses previous initiatives within three months. He encouraged senior government officials not to fear anti-graft bodies while tackling multiple challenges and formulating development plans. 'If you refrain from corruption, anti-graft bodies will have no cause for concern,' he reminded them.

Additionally, the PM directed all relevant parties to effectively implement the Digital Nepal Framework, ensure the supply of quality goods and food to the public, provide vocational training and agricultural tools to farmers, and maximise available resources.

The meeting also addressed issues such as prioritising information technology, resolving inter-ministerial matters within three months, promoting job creation and entrepreneurship, transforming the PM Employment Programme, and supporting child and maternal health.
