KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the prudent use of innovation and resources, cooperative efforts, and mutual understanding help ensure the welfare of less developed, developing, and developed countries. He argued that collective actions also pave the way for a bright future for all.

In his virtual address to the inaugural session of the 3rd Voice of Global South Summit (VOGSS), organised by the Indian government with the overarching theme of 'An Empowered Global South for a Sustainable Future' on Saturday, PM Oli noted that the multiple crises of food, energy, and climate change have disproportionately affected developing countries, posing serious threats. He emphasised that these issues warrant collective efforts to address them.

He observed that the event, underpinned by India's philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' and in line with Indian PM Narendra Modi's vision, was highly relevant. PM Oli expressed gratitude to his Indian counterpart for highlighting the perspective of the Global South.

PM Oli was addressing the event, which was attended by heads of state and government from 15 countries of the Global South.
