KATHMANDU: Domestic flights at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been significantly impacted today due to adverse weather conditions.

The adverse weather and low visibility have disrupted flight schedules to Pokhara and Bharatpur. However, TIA's General Manager, Jagannath Niroula, confirmed that international flights are operating as usual.

Meanwhile, flights to other domestic airports in hilly areas have experienced disruptions.

Buddha Air's Information Officer, Dipendra Kumar Karna, also stated that they awaited improved visibility to resume flights on the Pokhara and Bharatpur routes.

Currently, the country is experiencing the influence of monsoon winds. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), the monsoon trough is positioned slightly northward from its average location, resulting in partial to general rainfall across the country.

There are chances of heavy rainfall in a few places within the Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as one or two other places in other provinces today.
