FM Rana calls on Indian PM Modi

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Arju Rana Deuba, who is in New Delhi on an official visit to India, paid a courtesy call on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday evening.

During the meeting, various aspects of Nepal-India multilateral relations and mutual interests and concerns were discussed, according to the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi. 

Minister Rana conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Additionally, she handed over an invitation to Prime Minister Modi for a state visit to Nepal.

Earlier, Minister Rana held a bilateral meeting with her Indian counterpart, S Jaishankar. The discussion focused on matters related to bilateral interests and relations between Nepal and India.

Minister Rana's visit to New Delhi was at the cordial invitation of Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs of India. 

This marks Rana's first official visit to the southern neighbor since assuming office on July 15. She is scheduled to return home on August 22.
