KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index closed at 2,268.84 after gaining 12.27 points today. The index had risen by double digits on Sunday.
According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the Nepse index has risen by 12.27 points to reach 2,268.84 points. The Sensitive Index, which measures the turnover of large companies, rose by 3.12 points to 439.47 points.
Despite the rise in Nepse, the total transactions did not increase significantly. A total of 3,324,822 shares of 222 companies were traded worth Rs 1,390,607,702. Out of the total 13 subgroups traded, the share prices of four subgroups — Hotels and Tourism, Development Bank, Life Insurance and Investment — declined today while the shares of nine subgroups rose. Hotels and Tourism declined by 25.85 points, Development Banks by 20.91 points, Life Insurance by 82.12 points and Investment by 0.07 points.
Likewise, Banking rose by 14.76 points, trading by 35.22 points, HydroPower by 12.53 points, Finance by 1.66 points, Non Llife Insurance by 57.03 points, Manu and Pro by 27.19 points, Others by 5.19 points, Microfinance by 60.75 points and Mutual Fund by 0.08 points.
After Monday's trading, the market capitalisation has reached Rs 3,227,761.47 millions. Today, Nepal Telecom Company is in the top position in terms of turnover. The company had a turnover of Rs 78,353,899.
NIC Asia Bank topped the list with a turnover of Rs 504,89,591, Himalayan Distillery Rs 49,585,941, Shivam Cement Rs 386,71,992 and Nabil Bank Rs 36,905,688.
According to Nepse, the share price of Jalpa Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha has risen by 167.20 points or 10%. Likewise, investors in Mahuli Laghubitta Bittiys Sanstha earned 93.0 points or 7.77%, Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha 75.00 points or 6.27%, Sanima Large Cap Fund 0.48 points or 5.77% and RSDC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha 31 points or 5.32 percent.
Investors in Himalayan Urja Bikas Company fell 3.78%, Swarojgar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha 3.24%, Guheswori Merchant Banking and Finance 3.04%, Samata Gharelu Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha 2.99% and Jyoti Life Insurance Company 2.83%.
